The Photography Workshop – from Basic to Business have successfully concluded and the turn out was amazing. We had a full house sign up and everyone was treated to a great afternoon of photography knowledge and experience sharing by our 5 speakers who are all very established photographers in their own field. It’s a great opportunities for attendees who are thinking of venturing into the photography industry to have a up close and personal chance to speak to our speakers who gave an insight of their photography port folio and a feel of what it’s like being a photographer in their respective field. Here is a video highlight and photo highlights of the workshop.

The other side of weddings by 9frames Photography

I will be the first to admit, I do it all the time, glamourising my work by finding images to support the beauty of all things wedding and the thick of the action. I have also always advocate telling your wedding stories but these type of images have very little place in our system of showing the “best”. Often when I’m caught in the action of activity, I always like to look around and sleek a different facet of a wedding and retell them though the eyes of the relatives, family members, friends helping to keep the wedding in good order! These images will never win me new clients or awards, however I find it important to share a slice of life to allow future readers who might be interested how and what goes beyond the norm of wedding images. I have chosen some images below and written a brief of each image and why i took it, enjoy. Visit us here!The entrance of the bride’s house. In our typical HDB flats, we dressed up the flat with auspicious red Xi signs which means wedding celebrations!

While we always go upfront to the bride during makeup, its also my mantra to keep it real and find alternative angles with each wedding.

The wedding gown, always a must have, its always a challenge to present it differently each time.

The relatives of the bride that are also part of the wedding celebrations. Although they are not featured enough, they play an inaugural role in the wedding.

Arrival of the Bride’s grandma. Its always nice to see families gather together to celebrate, however hard the journey.

The makeup artist, awaiting for the bride to change into her gown first, paused to decide which hairpiece goes better.

The curious neighbour.

In a few moments, Allan will enter this room to bring the bride, Joey to her new home, fond memories of her house will always linger on.

The couple descent to the bridal car, accompanied by the bride’s dad as videographers, photographers, brothers and a few onlookers filled my view.

Raw Pig trotters formed the silhouette of the above image, a gift to the bride’s family.

A token of appreciation to the bridesmaids who helped in so much, running the games, logistics, helping to carry the hems of the gowns.

As we await for the bride to get change to a second outfit before returning home.

As of some of us, it was a first into the big suite and photos are mandatory.

The express highlight never happens by just putting things together, here William Chua of Ichiro Films works under pressure, putting the morning videos in a short but memorable edit, to the delight of the wedding guests later on.

Somethings we do help out the grooms at times, wearing cufflinks, ties are all part of my job.

A brother handling the wedding guests request. Its a thankless job, so I tend to look out for them as well.
